Nice designs in the ice, a lower point of view shooting more over the ice rather then straight down might have gave another good composition.
Well done.

A brilliant, well seen image! I love the way the ice has made a 'ripple' effect - well caught! Smile

Well spotted and very nicely captured: I like the juxtaposition of the cold ice colours with the warmer vegetation.

Hey! Where did my lunch time comment go?

I said it was well spotted and shot, but would like to see this polarised as it would remove the glare from the ice and brought a little more colour out. A nice study.

Unfortunately, it is hard (but not impossible) to polarise a compact camera, as it requires a filter on or over the front of the lens, and rotated until the desired effect is achieved. They are an oft forgotten accessory now image manipulation is used to correct deficiencies in photographs. It is, however, something that cannot be replicated in PS.

Quote:There is a 'plug in filter' in Photoshop and Elements that will give Polarisation

There may well be, but it cannot really do polarisation, only look a bit like it. It cannot remove glare and reflections from non-metallic surfaces, nor can it enhance colour that was not there in the first place in the capture.

I love the concentric rings - reminds me of a tree that's been chopped down, where you can count the rings to see how old it is Smile
