Hi Paul, I do like to use HDR, particularly in mixed light situations, I can then choose what is seen and what is not. I suppose it's a bit like taking 2 images for a landscape, one for the sky and one for the land.
For me, HDR done gently is much better for lifting the shadows and refining the highlights...naturally and much easier on the eye.
