The rain and wind have battered my beautiful remaining Poppies so I thought I would give them a chance at immortality, they have been lovely but so very fragile.
Taken in my small light tent and lit by two light boxes, one either side.
The red jug stands on my windowsill at home.

I suppose I could have gone much lighter with this but that's not what I was trying to get to.

I always find red a difficult colour to work with, a bit noisy if given the chance so I let it Wink not much but I quite like it.

Thanks for dropping by, constructive critique and mods very welcome.

Well its certainly different. I get it with the poppies in the garden hanging on for dear life. I think today's deluge will have put paid to the last of mineSad It took me a while to see that the lowest bloom was sitting on fabric. I thought you had blurred it into the foreground on first looking. I wish one of the seedheads wasn't blocking the centre of the top poppy, because then you would have a nice, comforting threesome coming down Blush I really like the notion of only including part of the jug. That would never have occurred to me Grin

PS Cat pic recently was uploaded from my laptop where I had not been so vigilant in checking for sRGB. Usually I upload from PC which is set to that colourspace for screen viewing. Have rectified now. Thanks for noticing. But not for printing, right?

Thanks Fiona, yes the seed head over the top flower annoyed me somewhat but when I tried to move it the whole thing collapsed !! The more I touched the Poppies the worse for wear they I left it.
I wanted the Poppies to "melt" into the fabric...made you look harder though eh ? Wink

Red can be so overpowering but you've handled it beautifully.

Wonderfully lit Janet - no small feat given the reflective surfaces in play.

A most unusual and inventive composition - love your blending of those reds.

The red on red is so effective, and I like the L-shape of the poppies, seeming to fall gently down the side of the jug.
