Mr Crabtree Goes Fishing

By chase
An ePz member ( you know who you are Wink ) thought I might like some Fishing Flies that he had just loitering about, I received them yesterday afternoon Smile
They are so beautiful, complete with storage boxes, a welcome gift.

The book is as the title of the image and is by Bernard Venables, Mr. Crabtree goes fishing with his son, Peter.
Page 47 has some lovely illustrations of fishing flies, so here is the combination of the two.
The Centre Pin reel is a limited edition by Matt Hayes.
The other stuff...from the garage Wink

Lit by daylight camera left.
An HDR image, 3 frames each 1 stop apart combined in Lightroom, finished in Photofaffshop with a tidy up crop, levels adjusted and a sharpen.
I did drop on a bit of a texture too at a very low opacity.

Thanks for dropping by.
Constructive critique and mods very welcome.
Janet xx

They make a great photographic subject, Janet, and you've really done them justice in this wonderful still-life arrangement 👍

Such a wonderful arrangement. Would make the fishermen on the site very envious to have all these collectibles.

I've often thought about doing still life - but I don't have your wonderful imagination.
(Fishing the fly is also a subject close to my heart)

Didn't know you were a fisherman Chris, I bet you have a special fishing bobble hat Wink

I am so pleased this has appealed to different genres, still lifers and fisherfolk to name a couple, surprising what you find out about peeps.

Another superbly crafted still life Janet, from the arrangement, lighting and to the processing.

I';m surprised that no-one else jumped in with that one before Malc. The vast majority of us would remember that advert.
