As time eased the memory of my mother's old age and death, I was able to remember her again as a younger woman. Time does that for us. And photography helps so much, it's hard to imagine that only the last handful of generations have been able to remember like this.
Incidentally, I can see where you got your strong will from... Wink

Aren't we all so grateful for the person who first thought of creating a camera and then made it happen. This lockdown has made many of us look back at our family photos and reminisce. Maybe many of us will have books made for future generations.

Judging by the photographs and the style of fashion I would say they were from the same era as my Mum and Dad ( mine no longer here too) Sad
A great idea and very well taken and presented Janet!Smile

The older we get, the more memories we accumulate, and, unfortunately, the more we forget...that is where photography plays an important role as an aid to remembering...

Thanks all for your kind comments... and David, lovely to have your UA for my memories, much appreciated.

The pictures you see were probably taken around 1953 ish.

Very nicely done Janet.
Memories are important but it's also good that we can see what our recent ancestos looked like and to preserve such images for future generations. Sandy's idea of a photobook is a good idea and there's the oppoprtunity to include a biography or two of those family members.

Wonderful photos of your parents still in their prime.
And fancy you still having that anniversary card - were you always a hoarder?

I retrieved the card from my parents house, along with a load of others that my Mum had saved from many years ago.
It was my Dad that was the hoarder Wink
