Old St Yrieix, houses built mid 1600s.
These can be bought for next to nothing, perhaps 40k for a 150-200msq building, but they present a huge challenge - the facade faces north and they are built into the side of a slope, the back of at least the ground floor and for some the ground and first floors are below ground level and of course the construction predates any form of damp proofing.
