Bedtime Fires

By chensuriashi
This is just how fires start in the home.
This is the first time I have felt the need to use the camera as a tool for getting infomation across for public infomation, would make a good Bill Board this one, well this sort of thing,... I upped the ISO to 400 and shot this on sports mode so that the flash would not fire, as this shot was not staged...just a little imaging around the ash to stimulate thoughts of fire...
The Mod in version 2 is done with a water colour filter, and I think has so much more punch than the camera shot.
As you can, see the ash was the whole ciggie so the smoker went straight to sleep, as soon as it was lit...

A warning to those who ignore common sense, and continue to smoke in bed...

Thanks for looking in.

Chen.

I completely agree with the statement you've given out. Although i feel, and this is only i personal opinion of course, that the shot needs more impact.
Only your write up was what 'made me think' not the image it's self.
I'm trying to think on how to improve it. As a smoker myself im all for it. Possibly the shot needs to include a facial shot of the eyes closed, or a burn mark, i dont know.
Very well done though, few people lack common sense nowadays.
I feel im going to contradict myself now, but you have made me think..(although i dont smoke in bed) so i suppose you' ve achieved what was intended, well done.

My Grandfather used to burn holes in the sheets and his vest regularly through smoking in bed, he ended up with a few burns to his chest but luckily he never set his house on fire.
