Cleared For Landing

By ChiliMan
First off, major thanks to AlexAppleby for her wonderful User Award on Silly Sunday’s perfume ad. Glad you liked it, Alex Grin

Now then…I sooo wish I could take credit for the timing in this shot. But the credit has to go to the cam’s shutter lag…and its further shutter lag when using flash Smile

I’d originally focussed on a perched dragonfly. As I was depressing the shutter button, the fella flew off and instantly came back in…*click* went the cam, *grin* went me when I reviewed the pic just after Grin

Not a sharp shot at all and a wee bit dark…so I’ve pushed and pulled and kneaded the shot to make it a bit more presentable. Obviously sharpened the hell out of it too. This cam’s pics are already a bit grainy at the best of times. So after the sharpening I did, well, let’s not focus on the graininess, shall we? Grin

Graininess? WHAT graininess, Andrew??

Thaaat’s it…

I love these little "accidents" which sometimes produce an exceptional image. This is great. The dragonfly looks intent upon reaching that enticing red spikey thing and you've really made the most of it. Smile

That's not graininess, it is an artistic texture that adds a gritty urban dimension to this allusion to the ephemeral nature of life and the constant human quest to be grounded. (Do I qualify for the super pseuds club with that)?

Excellent in flight shot.
