HAPPY NEW YEAR, ALL SmileSmileSmileSmile

May 2014 bring you the best of health, the realisation of goals, and just a jolly good bunch of satisfaction all round.

I haven’t been around ‘cos I just couldn’t find the mental space to sit down to some peaceful and proper EPZing. There seems to have been lots to tend to. But I couldn’t let the 1st go by without popping in to wish you all a splendid 2014 Smile I’ll catch up with your pfs over the next couple of days.

Ooo…and a very big thank you to Alex (AlexAppleby) for her User Award on my Silly Sunday Christmas card Grin

Today’s pics are nothing particularly picturesque – I just wanted to share with you some stuff my mum made for a lovely New Year lunch today. My brother and his family came over and the 7 of us rang in the new year with:

- roast turkey with cranberry sauce and gravy
- stuffing (pork sausage with sage and onion)
- roast veg (Japanese sweet potato, purple onion, parsnip, bell peppers, butternut squash)
- roast potatoes
- caramelised onions (as a side, and it went SO well with the stuffing)

The stuffing (V2) was my favourite. My mum made it like a meatloaf this time, which was genius ‘cos there was no chance of it drying out. V3 is the veg.

V1 is a really nice spice cake. With the sort of spices used to make Indian spice tea.

Alrighty…enough rambling. Have you all’ve had a good one today Smile

I looked hard and long at these three, Andrew, read the descriptions, looked at the pics again: then I just had to pop out to the kitchen for a handful of almonds to help fill the gap between lunch (turkey and gammon sandwich followed by Christmas Cake) and dinner this evening (roast duck, sprouts, parsnip and mashed potato accompanied by a glass or two of a good Côtes du Rhône. . . . followed by a very small and select helping of chocolate cheesecake . . . . .

Hope you have a wonderful 2014!!!!!

It is breakfast time here in Nairobi, when I opened your images, so sorry old mate, but I'll just stick to my cornflakes at the moment Tongue
