First of all, thanks so much for the encouragement on my flower pics, people
I did, however, say that the next upload would be a non-flowery non-white backgroundy shot...so here you go.
This is from the archives, taken and put together a year ago maybe?
I'd gone to pick up my dad from his church on a Sunday evening and had my cam with me. There's a little garden by the side of the church and in it is a statue of the Virgin Mary. To the right, under a light, is a life ring behind which is a chain leading to an anchor.
I was playing with long exposure, resting the cam on a wall, and took two separate images. One of the statue and one of the ring.
I liked how the images came out - I took several of each with different exposures but only one of each came out well.
And while looking at them, I suddenly thought of people who've ended up ending it all. And how a lot of that perhaps could've been avoided if they'd sought help. I'm talking about them just talking to friends/family/caring people who could perhaps offer an optimistic perspective on whatever misery the person is going through, thus giving them some life-saving hope.
Hence the title.
And I kinda liked the final image when I put these two shots together.
All C&Cs welcome, OBviously, positive or otherwise
