Very big thank yous to Jennnn (taggart) and CarolG for their most appreciated User Awards on yesterday’s oriole
Here’s a simple shadow shot showing the centre of a Turnera subulata. Photographed in my brother’s garden and mercilessly messed with in Paint Shop Pro
Thanks for the response on yesterday’s upload, people, especially the comments
I’ve got no problem with most of the rules/guides. The Rule of Thirds, for example, is something I look out for when I compose/crop. And it’s good to learn the ‘rules’ so you can know how to break them in the right moment/context.
I just think the odd numbers thing should be conveyed carefully. It may work in some images but should not be used as a convention. I have noticed it handed out a lot, almost automatically, in comments. This may ‘teach’ some people’s eyes to see odd numbers as an unconditional tick in the box.
Which may make them automatically discount a shot like THIS
, for example (refer V1). To my eyes, that’s a pretty awesome shot
Good grief…there I go again! Enough from me already!! On to your pictures now…
