You know what? I had never meant to post the previous pic. While processing the actual plane pic, that weird negativy thing came up and I went, “’ello ‘ello…I quite like this!”…and kept it for myself. But on some bizarre impulse I put it up on Tuesday. And I’m glad I did ‘cos there were some lovely comments on that shot. So thanks, all, for making me feel not too silly about my impulse Smile

With those completely unnecessary ramblings out of the way, here’s today’s upload.

A piece of fortuitous timing thanks to that crazy torpedo of a fly.

There I was on Sunday morning taking a picture of morning glories behind the kitchen. I had just snapped this one. When I looked on the LCD, I was like, “Nooo…WAY”.

This crazy fly had been buzzing around like a manic thing earlier and had disappeared. And it obviously decided to ZOOM right in at just the right time, escaping my eyes but not the cam’s.

V1 is the original, V2 is very cropped and sharpened, V3 with the background removed.

A Smile

Such a beautiful blue in this mornng glory, and Andrew you have done him proud!!
Like V1 as all the background suits little 'blotches' and greenery.

Wow, what a bit of luck! He must have been waiting in the wings (pun extremely intended!) to dive into the flower as you clicked! A great shot, well done!

This is most spectaculaar! Great timing

V2 the crop os the best

V3-- I see/saw no need to clone out the bg--maybe just some of the light at the bottom--- the leaves, etc give the flower a sense of place-- V1 and 2 are stunning!

All been said already! £ Cracking images , usually I prefer to clear out the background but in this case althougt V3 has been very well done and does look really good I prefer V1 with the greenery ( apart from that little "eye" on the right hand corner.

Lillian and Mary, yep, I wanted to keep the background 'cos it gave the flower a sense of place (and Ann, I knew you'd like

Seems like most people prefer V1. Me too.

Thanks, everyone Smile

How fortunate! I think this is an excellent shot though it seems a little over-sharpened to me, which has made the flower petals look almost as if they're made of denim. I rather like that but, if you're going for a natural look, you should probably tone down the sharpening a bit.
