Thanks for the well wishes, people. I’m not too worried about my dad’s op tomorrow morning ‘cos it’s pretty routine. My mum had her cataracts done and new lenses put in (autofocus, image stabilisation, the works Wink ) a few years ago and everything went well. Same surgeon, really good guy. Of course there’s a bit of worry about complications, etc. Which is normal.

Gotta be at the hospital by 7 tomorrow morning. The op is at 8.30. I wonder what light and skies await me from the 17th floor this time Smile

Ok…two more views today from the same visit at yesterday’s upload. But from a different side of the building.

V2 is a pulled back shot to show what the situation was with the window. Just outside the glass is an annoying metal structure. Bah.

Oh, and V1 is not a crop of V2. It’s another shot which was cropped.

An amazing skyline, Andrew, that 17th floor certainly is providing you with some wonderful photo opportunities Smile All the very best for your dad tomorrow, no doubt when it's all over and done with he will wish he had had it done sooner Grin Carol

I love industrial landscapes and really must make the effort to capture some myself. I like the 'annoying' metal structure in V2, it gives a kind of triptych, though I confess that I would have tweaked the image to make the frame at the bottom parallel with the bottom of the image, but I am a compulsive tweaker!

Like Lynn, I love industrial landscapes too - all those cranes against the skyline are so interesting. Nice one Andrew. I do hope all goes well for your dad today.

I think i'm in the minority in preferring v1 the letterbox format, an excellent industrial cityscape indeed.

Hope all has gone well with the operation and that your dad is doing well.

I seriously wish I could view v1 in larger format than the site allows - the light is exceptional.
