Thalia

By ChiliMan
WOW…amazing reception to the last upload! Thanks you all for the votes and fabulous comments…

…and a very special ‘Thank Yooo’ to Joline , CarolG and ChristineD for their wonderful User Awards. Sure put a huge grin on my face Grin

-----

Now I would normally never upload something unprocessed. I think I’ve done it only once. At a minimum, 10% contrast is what I’d give a shot in the way of processing (cropping doesn’t count). But I kinda like how this looks as is.

Saying that, all crit is welcome…that should go without saying ‘cos I like to know what others’ eyes feel. [Is this a bit dark to anyone?]

This was taken with the new lens yesterday morning. At a nearby hospital (took my mum for a fasting blood test) which has lovely gardens.

This is a thalia…and when I Googled ‘thalia’ I was faced with loads of images of a very pretty lady. Turns out there’s a Mexican singer named Thalia! So I Googled ‘thalia plant’ and managed to find out the exact species. The singer sorta made the flower pale in comparison, though Grin

I'd never seen anything like it, Andrew, and so I did what others have done, googled for it. It's an aquatic plant, so there must have been a pond in the hospital garden. It's so unusual and attractive.

Perfect for me, Andrew: the colours look a bit muted, which I appreciate, a sort of pre-Van Gogh Smile
