The Atrium

By ChiliMan
First off, HUGE thanks to Barbara (barbarahirst) for her most valued User Award on yesterday’s chandelier shot. Majorly unexpected SmileSmile

Second off, loved the comments GrinGrin

-----

Alrighty…final part of this hotel series (says the yokel) Wink

Looking up at the atrium…

…and here’s something I think I’ve done only once: upload a straight-from-cam pic.

At the very least, I would normally apply a 10% increase in Contrast. But that didn’t work here ‘cos the top got too bright and the bottom got too dark. I tried all the other usual stuff…but something or other got out of whack. So I thought…leave it. I’ve left it uncropped too.

I’m gonna flip on Mods in case anyone wants to have a fiddle.

V2: I did BW and Sepia conversions in-camera and put ‘em alongside the original. Those are straight-from-cam too.

Andrew

PS Gonna upload and run. Will catch you all soon.

Hey Andrew....yikes all three are very strong!!

You callit an atrium but I see no bees!! Tongue

I think I'm calling it as sepia, then mono , then the colour version in that order as my favourites...but a hard call twixt second & third.

Excellent work..and I think you made the right decision to leave as is.

Fabulous fist shot (for which you have my UA) and an interesting triptych. I actually like it just the way it is but there is lots of potential for other versions of this so I'm going to have a play to get those other versions - not better, just different.

I too have only had one pic I uploaded straight from the cam Andrew.
I usually need a little tweak on contrast too.
I spent about 10 minutes on that pic wondering what I had done ''wrong'' to make it ''right'' !!
Good graphic shots here.

This is a great abstract Andrew and I'm going with the original although I also love the first in v2. More excellence from the country bumpkin!

Way-hey! Thank you so much for your UA, Lynne GrinGrin And thanks for the Mods! My favourites are 1, 2 and 3 in that order. Actually, V1 pretty much hits the nail on the head for what I hoping to get.

Thanks, everyone Smile

This particularly special-- the darks and light, along with the lines lead the eyes about a bit, allowing one to enjoy the colors and textures--which are fabulous--- this works perfectly as graphic design!
