Touch The Sky

By ChiliMan
Hey, people Smile Glad I managed to raise some chuckles with yesterday’s upload Grin

And now for something completely different.

This was taken at Boat Quay when Claire was here. Well, right behind Boat Quay sits the financial district so you get these sorts of buildings. Hardly skyscrapers by global standards but still quite tall.

On the left is Maybank, a Malaysian bank. On the right is Capitaland, one of Asia’s largest real estate companies, headquartered and listed here. In the middle is Bank of China.

Play nicely, buildings, or no pudding.

I like the balance. I think I want colour here, the blue is so clean and clear.

A hard choice between these two Andrew - but I think I'll go for colour too! Love the sort of symmetry. Smile

Can't quite belive this is me saying this but it's V1 for me today! (Gasp!) That's not to say I don't like the wonderful blues of V2, because of course I do, but somehow the clean lines and shapes work so well in mono. Either way the POV is superb and the details pin sharp. (Off to lie down in a darkened room now to recover from the shock of prefering mono when everyone else likes colour, an unheard of event to date!) Grin

The mono is superb, I like the minimal approach and the lines work brilliantly, great shot.

The touch of blue sky makes V2 my choice Andrew and the way you have captured these buildings is really top class.

v1 for me, the mono keeps the symmetry. They both keep the crick in the neck!! Tongue

Skyscrapers by Prudhoe standards, though, Andrew. The top (third) floor of our new civic/library building is set back two metres so that the second storey gives the impression of maintaining the roof line of the surrounding buildings!
B&W, please - ideal.

The mono is my preference here, the perspective is terrific. They are such tall imposing buildings which dominate the skyline and tower over everything else

Quite wonderful buildings, and you have done them proud with this fine shot Andrew, unlike many others I simply cannot decide which version I think best, as both have the highest merit for me!
