Towards The Sun

By ChiliMan
Iíve just learnt how unfit I am. My official title is now PotatoMan.

I was at the World Orchid Conference 2011 yesterday (note to self: buy spare battery for new cam) and I was doing lots of kneeling on left knee and crouching whilst taking pics. Today, my thighs are aching something AWFUL like I climbed Everest or something. Bah. I was out today and walking about the way a toddler toddles. Without the squeaky shoes. [Decided not to wear them today]

Anywho, LOTS of plant pics I took yesterday but most are not worthy of upload, I reckon. I had the cam on Auto ISO and I was taking pics indoors without flash and handheld. Hoping the IS (image stabilisation) would sort things out. But thatís ok. Iím getting to learn this cam and what it likes and doesnít like and that takes time. Also, I didnít take the tripod, so my bad.

Ironically, a pic I do like was taken just before the orchid show. A restaurant wasnít open for the day. These bottles were up against the window catching the morning sun in a relatively unlit restaurant, catching my eye in the moment. It was only at home when I looked at the pic did I notice that the geese seem to be flying towards the sun.

FLY, grey geese. Fly like the wiiiiiiiiiiiind.

Very well spotted and captured, Andrew, the geese make this image so much more special.
I have a new toy to play with now, a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7 digital camera, wonder how long it will be before I am as confident with using it as I am my OllySadGrin Carol

Very well seen, Andrew, a good still-life taken on the fly.

I see the vodka was distilled in France. We once showed (but did not offer) vodka distilled in England to some Russian friends, They laughed . . . .

I'll have to look for that bottle of Vodka while down here in Arizona. Booze is soooo cheap down here. About less than half of home, Canada. I do like the picture on the bottle of the geese, a great shot. Just looked at what my husband just bought, Skyy Vodka, 1.75 litre for $17.00, does that sound good to you?............Sandy
