Viv 3 - Lace Type Thing

By ChiliMan

NOW THEN, this is No. 3 in a series of 7.

I took my mum to her friend Vivien's place on Sunday and while there, I found lots of things to photograph. As such, I decided to precede each title with 'Viv' to indicate it's part of the same series.

We now move into Vivienís house. This shot is a far cry from the previous two. There was a circular table around which sat chairs the backs over which were draped these nice lace things. The light was low which made the dark furniture fade into nothingness and all that was left were these delicate patterns in white. I didnít think twice and fell to one knee as the lens came zooping out of the camera. Then it was *click* and that was that. Ok fineÖthree *clicks*. Had to make sure, you know? Wink

This is not unfiddledwith, though. I blued it a wee bit and then brightened it (which kinda made the blue go away some). After that I darkened it using gamma correction. Then I resized it and sharpened it.

PS All comments welcome, critical or complimentary. Don't hold back. How else can we learn, right? Same goes for all my other pics, past and future.

PPS By the way, you don't have to leave a vote if you wanna just leave a comment. Thought I'd take the pressure off you there Wink

WOW I'm the first to comment!.... I like this for its originality and the detail of the delicate shawl is shown beautifully... shame the 'blue' disappeared I was thinking you'd had a 'blue themed' visit Smile Can't wait for tomorrows upload....

I added a comment to my pic to explain the bricks!

Heh heh...I have to admit that I've been quite taken with blueifying things recently! Speaking of WHICH, hope you like tomorrow's picture! Yep, it's blue. Very blue.

Thanks so much for your comments on the shawl (THAT's the word I was looking for - bah - lace type thing...!!!). To be honest, I wasn't expecting any hearts for this 'cos it's just about a pattern being captured in a normal way and doesn't really say anything. But I just had to put it up 'cos I liked how the patterns sat so starkly against the chair.

And now, I shall LEAP into your cathedral to explore those bricks.

See you there!

Good work, you've managed to keep the pattern lovely and sharp.

Nice and sharp, and no burnout on the shawl. Well cropped and framed. The inverted triangle gives it a good shape too.

Thanks, Jennnnnn.

And holy cow...I never thought of black & whiting this! DOH!!! That would look pretty good, I think!

Ok...just greyscaled it in Paint Shop Pro and it looks like it would be fantastic in sepia too! Must see if PSP does sepia or not.

Thanks again!
