Waspie

By ChiliMan
This wasp must’ve caught wind of the fact that my birthday cards to CarolG yesterday were flower-based and not insect-based.

I was just about to get a pic of this orchid bud when Waspie flew in and gave me a good talking too Sad

By the way, Carol, Waspie says ‘hi’. She says you two were at school together. I dunno…these wasps will do anything to appear on EPZ. Can’t trust ‘em.

V2: The whole bud.
V3: Taken today, the bud in bloom.

She's on a very strict diet. Although she did pig out for lunch today. Instead of the allotted 2 gulps of air, she had 3. Tut.

Wonderful clarity, Andrew. Is that why it's called a 'waspish' figure? Grin

I was thinking the same thing, Dave...that this wasp is THE perfect illustration of the term 'wasp-waisted' Grin

Hope the wasp hasn't got a sting on its tail.. Now I know where the term waspish comes from.. Excellent observations

V2 is my favourite.. I admire your insight into the psychology of a wasp. Funny enough, I'm not afraid of wasps and hornets since I take pictures of them. I should have taken a picture of a dengue mozzie Smile
