You're really getting in touch with your botanical side these days, Bill. Nice OOF BG Blush
I've always thought this plant rather nice for a weed. When viewed singly, that is. Though I quite like the massed seed heads when they appear.

It came as a profound shock to see that there isn't a black & white version posted. A lovely flower very nicely captured.

A very well observed and captured image with beautiful contrasting colour and great use of Depth of Field.

I think we call this "Fireweed" it certainly looks like fire from a distance when there are massed ranks of them.

Smashing colour Bill.

Very pleased to see you are not averse to the odd floral and some colour! Lovely. Hope the weather is being kinder to you on your break than it is here....pouring.

Will be interesting to see if you can keep your promise Bill,
and have a whole week WITHOUT a mono upload !!
Nice bit of colour here.
And remember I shall be keeping a close eye on you.
(And if anyone asks for a mono version of one during the course of the week,I will not consider that an excuse for any signs of weakness from you !! )

It's a real pleasure seeing your fine color work. It brightens some rather dull days here.
We also call this fireweed since it is one of the first plants to grow after a forest fire. In light of your recent posting, it might also interest you to know that it was also called "bombweed", since it rapidly colonized bomb craters in WWII.

Amazing what one learns on here, from a mere pretty weed. Like the lovely purple with the oof green b/g......

Ba gum lad, that f/1.8 does the stuff, doesn't it. Wicked use of dof (sorry about the lingo, just watching some street-wise kids on a reality police programme, innit it, apart from the 'ba gum'...that's whiterose1talk, guv)

Only one thing to say here, Bill..are you feeling OK? I mean, this is in colour?? You know therapy is available?

Have you come across the VW Up?
Did you know they now sell an Eco version?
I bet it sells well in Yorkshire: I understand it's called the E-Up Blush

Ohhh...now that is some sweet sweet bokeh, Bill. So smooth...and amazing that the flowers are so sharp with the lens wide open! Killer lens and killer shot.

For someone not into flower photography, this image is going to give the 'competition' a good run for their money! By 'competition' I don't mean me but the very good flower photographers out there. And of course I don't really mean competition 'cos it never is.

This is utterly gorgeous. Very inspiring, actually.
