What are they called before 6 months? I thought juvenile covered the period before they became
fully grown swans?
The feather detail is lovely - then one day he'll be all white.

cygnets ?????????
from what I have read they are cygnets....around the 6 month period they usually leave the family home and then are known as juveniles
Then it can take up to 4 years to mate....
But heh ho I am no expert

What an amazing shot. The exposure and detail on the plumage are fantastic and the swan stands out SO well from the darkness.

Top Marks for this one, Barbara.
It is a stunningly beautiful wildlife image.
The loss of cygnets is often attributed to Pike, I am sorry to say.
