The Washing on the Siegfried Line

By Fefe
Good morning allGrinGrinGrin
Now a great big thankyou to all for yesterday's votes and comments.....and the laughsGrinGrinGrin..... Now "Norma" wasn't as popular as I thought she might be, but thinking about it ...... it could have been the fact that she was a bit different from the "norm".......and looked more like NormanWinkTongue than NormaGrinGrin.....DarnTongue
Now today's set of three was taken at Goathlands Station.... I have pictures of this lady in the glasses way back in my pf. Again I was unsure which order to put these in........V2 would have been the best lead for the title but I think I like this one best. I will let you decideWink.......some appropiate music todayGrin

Oh.....and Barbs... if you see thisWinkWink....I took your adviseTongue

I agree with your opening remarks up top, Diane: V 2 perhaps fits the title best but all in an excellent set.

Come on! They are men in drag Diane, great nostalgic photos as I used to have a pinny like that but my Wife insisted on wearing it.

Fun to see the old ways when washing was pretty much
an all day job.
Looks like the washer women were having a good old gossip too.
Very well done Diane.

Blimey, these make me feel old! Wink I remember before my mother got her first washing machine she used a tub like this, and I got the job of agitating the washing with the posser! I also used to get the job of wringing out the rinsed clothes in a wringer like in V2! Smile
A great set, Diane, and the muted colours suit the period very well Wink

Your processing is uhm-maaay-zing, Diane. WOW.

My favourite here is V3 - really beautiful portraiture.

Although I do like how the lady in V1 seems to be doing a Kenneth Williams "Ooo..." Grin Actually, probably more like a Charles Hawtrey one!

Well processed. But, if you had positioned yourself better taking the shots you could have avoided the iron rail going through the head in V1 & V3.Smile

Thankyou..... I see what you mean, although I hadnt noticed this before. Problem was though, the two ladies were behind a fence, they didnt move that much, just stood posing, and I wanted to get them front facing.......So I do think the railing would still be there if I had altered my positionTongue
But I do see what you say and will try to watch out for things like this in futureGrin
