Underneath the arches...

By Chinga
Underneath the arches, we dream our dreams away
Underneath the arches, on coblestones we lay...
Everynight you'll find us tired out and worn
Happy when daylight comes heralding the dawn...
Sleeping when it's raining. Sleeping when it's fine
The pavement is our pillow, no matter where we stray
Underneath the arches, we dream our dreams away...
Written by Reg Connelly/Bud Flanagan in 1931.

I thought at first he was a builder taking a rest Isabel !!
It is getting more common here to see the homeless on the streets,
and underneath some arches too !!

A good shot.
There will always be such a large 'homeless' problem where there are drugs, alcoholism, crime, laziness, gambling and greed. I'm not talking about those, comparitively, few who are in that situation through genuine illness, genuine mental disorder and genuinely no fault of their own.
