Thanks to all for your comments. The fox was in the wild - albeit he seemed to be pretty used to a lot of people around - mainly due to scrounging for food I guess. This was taken at the NT property at Formby - where we had gone to photograph the red squirrels. However at the end of the day on the way back to the car park we saw a group of people standing by the fence. There was a plethoria of mobile phones taking pictures of this little chap from 5 to 6 feet in the air, so I got down low (to fox level) - which must have got his attention. It was one of those shots where you know you have a "good one" when you release the shutter.
And - Hi Charlotte - I hope to be a more regular contributor in the future!
