female barn owl

By chris-plumb
This is one of a wild pair of barn owls that I have been following in Norfolk
Over the last 3 years late in July 2009. Out and about at 5am sat in my hide watching the pair catching their prey to feed their young. The female had just been in the roost to feed her young when she sat on the post just for a minute before she went off for more food.

Good shot with the bird clear and crisp. Must be really satisfying to watch these birds breed over anumber of years.

Fabulous catch... Always feels good when you know that you caught it in the wild... Like wise I have sat many hours waiting for the right shot. It doesn't happen a lot but its just a thrill to be there.
