It is a wonderful image - I can almost hear the whine as if the pilot has opened the throttle and is ready for takeoff. But, the exposure is 4s, there is no vibration movement, and that engine compressor looks stationary. Much as I love the photograph of an iconic aircraft, I keep wondering how that image was made.

The Harrier was shot using a halogen light hidden behind the left wing stabiliser, a smoke machine out of shot and a cordless LED light with a red gel taped across hidden in the air intake, the aircraft was static and the camera mounted on a tripod.
