Chiltern Red Kite

By chrispd101
Photo taken this afternoon at one of the best spots to view the Chiltern Red Kites. These birds were virtually wiped out by the end of the ninteenth century but have been re-introduced between 1989-1994. There are now around 200 breeding pairs - one of the most succesful conservation stories of the 20th century.

Cracking pic Chris, I must live in the same area as you. Must have had a dozen or so kites at my own back door most days.

I think this is really good, not easy to capture a bird in flight against a blue sky.
