While away camping last weekend up the west coast of South Africa, we took shelter when the rain came bucketing down...and it turned out we weren't the only ones looking for shelter!!

This little guy sat nice and still for me to get a good few shots with the macro lens...

Its times like these that you wish you had the 180mm macro rather than the 60mm!!!!!Had to get really close to fill the frame with him!!!
Not sure whether my heart was beating faster photographing this guy or when we were driving the 4x4 trail!!

looks like a desert hairy scorpion to me......Good job u didnt tangle with it!!! Look at the pedipalps (pincers and the fatter they are the less venomous they are) this ones are thin and thats danger!!

Great capture of a beautiful but dangerous animal
