Lonely Gemsbok

A shot taken in Etosha, Namibia, last December. This was taken on the edge of the pan, with grey skies, just before a storm.

I played around with the comp a bit, and decided, unusually for me, that I really prefered the central positioning of the subject...sort of half way between nothing and nothing...

Quite agree with central positioning and you can also see the surrounding habitat rather than a full frame of the subject.

I do agree with you. This is a marvelous photograph. I know Etosha well, lived in Swakopmund for a couple years

I think I would have positioned it a little more to the left, but it's your picture and majority opinion seems to be with you.
