Catching Light

By chrisrudland
Really in two minds about this one, but thought I would see reaction.

The title came about because the last beam of light on the lighthouse also can be seen on the bridge of the ship entering port. If you can view large.

The water here is not more than a few inches all the way out to the lighthouse and the only thing above water near me was a few ripples of sand to my left. This created a glass like effect on the water to the horizon. Conditions were obviously very calm, no wind and it was still very warm for late evening.

Like the top half a lot Chris and wonder if it might benefit from a squarer crop up to the underneath of the reflected cloud. The bottom half of the image doesn't add a huge amount to the overall image IMHO. I trust you won't mind the comment. Nick

A very, very good shot indeed. The cloud above teh tower and then the cloud's reflection under the tower and so well composed with super colours. A shot to dream we all get the chance to take. Well seen and captured.

Youve found some great light here Chris and I know how little time you get at low tide here. A great image.
Think I agree with Nick although you may have seen something in the print at the bottom that is not apparent on screen.

Good shot. Great reflection. However I tend to agree, perhaps the lower third is wasted.

I think that is the area that I was not sure about so I tend to agree, the wet feet bit was a waste of time and probably this would benefit from a crop at the bottom.

Thanks for taking the time to comment honestly although I wondered what was going on for a few hours because this is the first time I have had access to this image since the glitch occurred.

I recon a square crop is the way to go. Beautiful light and I love the position of the cloud. I must get up to Doverscourt sometime soon I think.
