Foggy Floral !!

By chrissd
Again I continue stepping out of the box!! it has to be done. This is one of my "foggy Florals" the image is not supposed to be in focus, it gives a hint of what can be!! sometimes a hint is enough, you dont have to see the whole image in focus
I realise this may not go down well, so all the more reason to do it, if we all photograph the same old flowers in the same old poses nothing moves forward.....I will move forwardSmile....it makes me happy

If you dont like this tell me why, dont just give me a click......

I voted for this image because it's different Chris,I could see it having many uses to be honest, would make a lovely greeting card front & I would think that printed huge & mounted on canvas it would be rather stunning.
Nice to see another angle on flower photography..well done !

Different true but I'm undecided. I can see what you're trying to do and I think it works...maybe not as well as some of the more recent uploads. Keep it up Chris.

close up I'm not a fan but if you use the large version and stand back from the screen what a differance it makes, and it is a totally differant image and I'm a fan

Good to try different ways, this reminds me of reflections in a lake-- little bit of breeze
Kudos for moving out of the box!

A faint heart never ................ My only thought on this Chris would be to give a little more hint of detail in one of the flowers - but what do I know.Smile

I like the fogginess, but the flowers look a bit distorted. Good to try different things though. This is an interesting direction you are traveling.

I like the 'barely there' look to this. Interesting that some like it bigger; I personally like it bijou small as here - it has more intrigue Smile

I think I can see where you're coming from with this one but it is not to my taste. I feel the image is too strong and too structured and therefore you will only get a comment from me.

However keep stretching the limits.

I can see where you're going Chris & I admire you for it.
I do like this, & I like the inclusion of the vase as well.....most of us leave them out.
I can definately see this as a poster on a wall in a reception area.

This is a lovely image, almost childlike in it's pared down simplicity.
Great work. Detail can be over rated.

I am always striving for the utmost clarity in my own pictures, so I did not expect to like this. However, I find it really draws my attention, and have to admit that I love the effect you have created here. I can imagine it looking particularly good if printed large on canvas.

Hi Chris, this is like looking through a piece of very old glass, before you could actualy see through it that is. For me it has that sort of old mystic feel to it, like looking back into the past, but not really being able to see things clearly. Fires the imagination this one. Good stuff, and well done for breaking away for awhile.

"If you dont like this tell me why, dont just give me a click...... " - Hmmm. If they don't like it they won't click anyway will they? As it happens I do like it, so have a click (though I do think the red is a bit too strong for the delicate pink background).

An interesting and unusual floral image Chris, it looks much better and has more impact if you view it from further away. Keep these innovations coming

Congratulations for being brave. I think this works quite well. Despite what Carole says for me it is the hint of pink in the background that unifies the whole image.

I like the idea very much and your "stepping out of the box", but this rendition doesn't quite do it for me. I think the red jars against the more subtle colours of the background...I'd prefer it if the two shades were closer.
