Fireball

By ChiliMan
A very big thank you to saltireblue for his UA on ‘The Return’. Much appreciated Grin

-----

By the way, about the Snapseed I mentioned in yesterday’s upload, that was a free download for my PC. I don’t have an iPhone.

And would you believe it…I’d actually decided to get the paid version of Snapseed if it wasn’t too expensive, and found out that they’d pulled the PC version earlier this year! So one can only get the paid version for iOS or Android. Lame-o-rama. I’ll Google ‘software like Snapseed’ and see what other goodies are out there Grin

For now, here’s a very confused flower. It goes by the names Blood Lily, African Blood Lily, Football Lily, Fireball Lily, Powderpuff Lily…good grief. Or maybe it’s a secret agent with a bunch of aliases.

This was blooming in a small pot on the patio. I wanted to get a deep sharp shot of it so I brought it to the dining room where I could guarantee no air movement. White paper behind flower, cam on tripod, fluorescent tube up on the wall behind me, and poof!

Such a treat when this bloomed. It rarely does!

Andrew

Since it rarely blooms, it's great that you have photographed it in all its splendour. Nice work with the background, perfect for all of those spiky bits.

An elegant flower indeed Andrew.
I prefer the name powderpuff Lily.
I can imagine Lily applying her powderpuff makeup using this !!
Fireball Lily is my second choice.
These redheads can get very feisty when they get going !!
Good shot.

Stunning shot of this amazing flower. I actually have one of these and it has only flowered twice in about eight years, now I know why - even better I now have a name for it, so many thanks.
