Out of the Shadows

By SteveMoulding
A very tricky exposure and I don't think I quite pulled it off. A very difficult cat to capture, constantly prowling and on the move.
As you all know it is a Mountain Lion also known as a Cougar or Puma, native to North America. Such a beautiful seldom seen big cat, whether in the wild or in a captive breeding program.
I hope you like him, as I think he is magnificent.
Viewed large is best if you have time.
Many thanks for all the C&C's on my Vultures. I was quite surprised at how well they were received.
Have a great weekend everyone. Unfortunately I'm still not well enough to get out yet but hopefully another week or so and I will be as right as rain again.
Take care and happy snapping.

do like the air of mystery that youve created with the use of the light and shadow, youve lost alittle detail in v1 on th face which is a shame. the mod works well and i definately think its worth spending alittle more time on this image as it makes for an eye catching image.lesley

WHOA. My first thought was, "AWESOME pose and light"...and then I looked at V2 and liked it but V1's got the magic.

And then I scrolled down and saw Poochie's GU Award and nodded and grinned in agreement.

Niiiiiice, Steve Smile

This is such a good photo - not quite pulled it off? I'd have been thrilled with it Wink. I can see why you were tempted to lighten the image for V2, but personally I think V1 is superb, the shadows adding drama and atmosphere which seem very appropriate for this elusive creature.
