I had to consult with the initial GE thread to find out the exact date, when i had given it a try for the first time, i find that it was 10.05.2010 to 16.05,2010 i was first time given the privilege of being the Guest Editor by Pete...Then the experience i gathered is truly difficult to explain, if i remember correctly the front page of the main gallery consisted of about 30 images...Generally it took 6 to 7 minutes to disappear an uploaded image from the front page of the main gallery, in that week as i said before, i faced a lot of hardship choosing the best ones because the standard of upload was very high with a lot of active Master photographers...
This week from 06.03.2023 to 12.03.2023 i have got the rare opportunity again to be the Guest Editor...rather i should say i could have passed this week to other members but out of curiosity i kept this opportunity for myself, i hope you all don't mind it...From that very first week to this current week, I have witnessed many changes from this Seat doing it several times...A point or two worth to be mentioned here,
1. In the year 2019, i can't remember the exact week, but out of curiosity i counted the number of uploads in that week, it was around 1740, the same i counted in the last year when i was in that Seat again & it was around 1000...Don't know what the figure will be in this week, but i should count at the end...
2. The standard of upload keeps changing every week, but fortunately yesterday i felt it was same as I felt for the first time in the year 2010...There was about 12 to 13 images had almost hit the spot...The standard of the images drastically increased, it is that missing spark, it needs to be preserved...
We must thrive to find out the reasons, so that our site/our community can claim a top place once again...
