Wildlife in an abstract frame. Love it.
I can't help finding the broken blade a bit distracting, I've been trying scrolling up to crop it off and I do prefer it like that. Brings a diagonal into the top right corner too, to match bottom left...

agree for composition (diagonals); however, would lose the asymetry (position of the bird in the frame roughly 3/5 would become 1/2) and, seen from further, the incredible effect of those lines could be lost : bird might be "à l'étroit " ?

just thoughts...

great eye and framing
the chipped blade adds a hint of imperfection

agree with imperfection; (though it is always possible to clone, in case the photographer prefers " perfect ")

I'm with Moira here Somnath, I would have gone for either a crop away from the top or the clone tool, I guess the latter would be a little more difficult but would maintain the aspect ratio.
I do like the combination of the strong diagonal lines and the bird, very well spotted.

For me, the broken leaf is fine. Nature isn't perfect, and this creates a bit of added interest. My eye didn't go directly to it, but when I saw it, it was like a little grace note in music. The reeds sticking up from the bottom are the same idea. It is a naturally occurring pattern. Excellent and interesting image.

Rather than crop the image, I would clone in the rest of the leaf. However, it is all a matter of taste.Wink

Copy a similar leaf and paste it over the broken one. Easier than cloning or cropping. Its a nice image either way.

Superb image Somnath - I just don't understand why ' petty perfectionists ' want to change natures natural offerings.

I have to agree with Moira though, the broken blade is a visual distraction.
