Beautiful child - he looks happy, inquisitive but also imprisoned?

Thanks Kate, probably he is ill, because i can see a mosquito net inside in this odd time of a day, when he should have played generally before bath...

A most interesting viewpoint. Makes the lad look like he is incarcerated in the wall.
Another superb shot in this series of images.

Your photowork is just great Somnath! But they make me also a little sad, that people have to live like this in 2019. While we play around with our cameras.

Thanks Arne...these are the villages in West Bengal (easily accessible to me about 40 minutes away from my home town) where no photographer or journalist usually comes for photography, and it remains untouched in this sense...if you see the net, you can can see so many images of street photography from India maximum from Rajasthan or Varanasi considered as haven for street photography...Our Govt. also do not pay heed to these poor persons and you can never see images published of these conditions, this is the reality i am showing and it is the truth behind the glittering facade of a country like India...

I love this, a window between two worlds, the exterior and the interior. But it set me thinking quite a lot. Particularly given the direction of the boy's gaze - upwards and towards our right - the spatial relationship between the window and the cloth is important. I don't think the item hanging top left is nearly so important. So I wanted to crop tighter to leave just those areas against the plain wall.
I also toned down highlights a tiny bit, which reveals textures in the wall, and I added a hint of a dark vignette for an enclosed feel. That suits the barred window.
That's my processing, you have yours... Wink

it is the newly cultivated Rice (don't know the proper language what it calls in English) and the other side, an empty bag hanging on the wall...

Isolated so as not to pass on his illness to other family members, perhaps?
One of your very best images from this fascinating glimpse into the daily world of these people, Somnath. Many thanks for the whole series.

The last image I spoke about the image telling a story and all the picture that stay with you do this. The man in front of the tank and the soldier with the gun to his head are examples of this. You never remember if the shadows or highlights were correct or if the crop was just right. It's the power of the image itself and the questions it makes you ask yourself.

This is one of these images, great job...
