Its not a bad shot. Its a little flast, and that means that the blacks are not black, but brighter, and this gives it a :light: appearance.

if you have Photoshop, open a levels adjustment, and you will see that the histogram does not extend all the way to the left. if you then simply drage the triangular adjustment point bottom left inwards to meet the histogram, the problem is solved.

At the time of shooting, perhaps underexposing 1/3 might have helped, but its really the light, and the time of day that were against you to get solid blacks.

Ive uploaded a mod, which Ive also cropped to a wider format.
