C'est Tout!

By Coast
Continuing the look through images taken in France over the last few years that I had not processed. This was taken in a fish market in Trouville-sur-Mer which is a litte further down the coast from Honfleur in Normandy. It was taken on Bastille Day.

I watched this lady for a little while as she had caught my attention with her forthright manner and some impatience when serving customers to her stall.

This one I feel catches the moment quite well as she waved the bag of prawns at the customer to ask is that all you want then!

Did toy with going mono as I have a natural preference for black and white, but liked the colour in this and the warmth from the tungsten lighting above the stalls.

Love to hear what you think so C&C welcome - particularly do you think this stands up on its own or needs to be seen as part of a series of images?

Thanks for getting this far.

Like the details and colours in this - good expression too. Works well.

I'm seeing 'Four prawns? You must be joking...' Very nice moment-in-time shot.

Think this stands alone no problem at all. I think we've all been on the wrong end of a grumpy shopkeeper/market trader! Super sharp candid capture, excellent expression.

Great capture, you can almost feel her impatience jumping out of this picture. Alwyn

Fantastic character shot! The composition is great, too.

Black and white could be interesting, too, but I think this works very well in colour. She's certainly what one might, diplomatically, call 'intense'. Smile
