Taking Stock

By Coast
Not wanting to lower the mood of the day however this is a sad day for me. A day to remember.

I have been taking self portraits intermittently over the last few months and this one I took earlier today to reflect my mood.

We all have sad days. Days to remember.

On Thursday January 9th 1986, aged 18 (42 now to save you working it out and yes I also know I look it), I came home from college to learn that my 12 year old sister Rachel, had died earlier that day.

I remember happy family times when I look back.

This is for Rachel. Never forgotten.

Excellent lighting, my type of image too.

Edit: sorry did not read your words, however this is a great image and it does not detract from the pain you must be feeling today.

Oh what a terrrible tragedy. I feel for you. Family is so very very important. This captures your mood. (My family will have a big discussion later about how important it is to love and appreciate one another - it's a message my children would do well to take note of)

You capture a very strong, pensive quality. A very harsh thing to come to terms with - but the happy times must help. We should all aim to make sure we treasure our happy times, I suppose. Emotive is right, Tim.

Exceptionally good SP. Ive had a similar experience, and 62 years later it still haunts me.
