Assume this is a record of artwork on the wall or on glass. A perfectly good record but would crop a strip from the top.

The subject matter needs a straight, factual 'record' image, nothing fancy, no arty angles. It speaks for itself. You have the vertical and horizontals true, everything sharp and that is the most important thing. That strong, off-centre vertical prevents it from being just a reportage image, it adds tension.
I wouldn't necessarily crop from the top but it needs more space at the bottom to balance. That should be easily addressed - add canvas space and do a bit of judicious cloning. A Mod will follow.
I'm curious about the artwork though, the white/black dichotomy. It reminds me of Krushchev's grave in the Novodevichy Convent cemetery in Moscow. See here . There's a story there, I wonder if there's one here.

I really like this image and the artwork it displays. For me this can work with extra space around the subject or cropped to give equal space around the image unfortunately as it is it looks unbalanced and I feel there is more to the image.

I have loaded 2 MOD's one is a cropped version of the original with the colour balances set for black and white in levels and yellow desaturated slightly to reduce the saturation and brightness of the background. The second MOD for me works best as it is a B+W conversion which I think allows the B+W artwork to really stand out.

I would like to know your thoughts.

Hi guys, thanks for the comments and mods. There are many of these different art pieces, photos, letters, symbols and flags on the hospital walls. Let me give you my interpretation of the black and white Mandela image, half white - to set the white people free from apartheid and the half black the black people. So that means that a nation is unified, a rainbow nation was born and his contribution to the struggle of his people will never be forgotten.
Coen.
