Why? Theres nothing disrespectful whatsoever about the image.

And yes I do know what it symbolises before you say, and yes I know its in Berlin. But to my view its about moving forward, the baggage of the past is always there, but theres a new horizon of hope. At least it makes you take stock, pause, think about what has gone before - and maybe a brighter future. - and yes for those that remain.

I personally find it more moving and poignant than trying to depict the "wasn't it all rosy" with the 40's weekend snaps.

Well, I must have my head up a very dark place then, as I didn't know what it was at first. And I also don't find it disrespectful now that I do know. Atrocities need to be learnt from and by making this image about future hope and something better, and the fact that the figure is walking towards that brightness, I find very poignant.
