A day in the Atlas mountains

By ColleenA
Good morning.....
Thank you for the wonderful response to my Souk images yesterday and a big thank you to
Tony (Canonshots), Maureen (HarrietH),Trevor (TrevBatWCC) and Lynne (Drighlynne) for their UA's ...much appreciated
Todays images are all from a day trip from Marrakesh to the Atlas mountains...what an amazing place...The Berbers are wonderful people.
We also had a great lunch in the most colourful restaurant I have ever been into...see last few versions...it was like being in a jeweled tent....had a real Morrocan Tagine lunch...
V11 is looking down from dizzying heights...how they get down there is a mystery. That house is cut into the hillside.
Have a nice day...we are now in Istanbul...what a wonderful exciting vibrant City

Enjoying this on going tour with all the various aspects shown.
today I like V6 for the scenic image, V8 for the simple receding hills
and the art prize today goes to V2 - was is decoration, a washing line or sales display?
The restaurant is certainly colourful and lunch from the Tagine delicious.
I have one which I use occasionally.

We are spoiled for choice with this extensive set of Atlas Mountain images: this record gives such a good flavour of the area and it's inhabitants.
I am nit even going to try and select a winner, each having merit in it's own way.

A fine selection Colleen, we walked in the Atlas ( it was hot !!) I remember scenes such as these in villages ( we also had lunch with Berbers !! I also couldn't get over the vast amount of rubbish dumped beside the roads ) An interesting country but one we will not return to.
