Black sheep of the family

By ColleenA
Thank you for all your votes and comments and a big thanks to Netta (netta1234) for the UA, much appreciated.
Just after the sun had set we came across a big herd of buffalo grazing and settling down for the night. Hence the high ISO and not the best quality images. This calf had been born with a recessive gene in the blood line of the herd causing it to be born an albino without any skin pigmentation. Unfortunately the little calf sticks out in the herd and only time will tell whether he will survive.
The versions are a few more of him....

Poor little fella, Colleen, I fear that being so noticeable, he is going to fall prey to some hungry predator Sad Well captured set. Carol

Sad to be the odd one out. He looks as if he knows he's different.
Best wishes for his survival.

Unfortunately Nature doesn't like 'different' unless it is an advantage.
Good pictures, Colleen!

Interesting set Colleen. The birth of a white bison has great significance for the native Indians, I wonder if there are similar legends in Africa.
