Cold butterfly

By ColleenA
One of my many images from the Kirstenbosch botanical gardens yesterday. It was very overcast for most of the day with bits of sun occasionally. I found this butterfly asleep, but he did move around a bit so that I could get different views of him. Do not know my butterfly names, but loved his see through wings. This was taken in very low light. A big thanks to Nathan and John for their UA's for my yacht race yesterday.

nice capture , though how can it be a cold butterfly when it's over there , and not here in the UK SmileWink

Beautiful images Colleen - I thought his wings looked a little like a tiger in v1 and v2 - then when you get to v3 they are so bright and colourful. Great detail on these super macro shots.

wow here is some progress Smile v1 and 3 are very good.
DOF is a lot better, v2 could have done with even more, it is a typical f11 or 16 situation if you want the eyes AND wings sharp.
And now I'm very curios: what is it? never seen one like it
