Excellent set. I am particularly drawn to V4 because of the verticals and horizontals.
Lovely renderings in this five of different angles of this boat. The old look is good with the colours.
V4 for me which has great texture. Well done Colleen.

Ahh a rusty bow, Mickbee would be delighted with these.
Looks as if it is being worked on in one section but then looks
worse than my old relic of the train. Great work again Colleen…...WinkWinkWink

V4 worth it's own slot but today I'm loving all of the old boat.
These would make a lovely set for home decoration.

Hi Colleen. Very good abstract, but the restoration effort is doomed! The discoloration that I see around the nailheads is probably the dreaded "nail sickness" This is caused by using iron nails on pitchpine planking. It is characterised by this discoloration where the affected wood goes fibrous and spongy rather akin to rot, but not caused by fungus.
The resin from the pitchpine, or similar wood, reacts to the iron nails, and the reaction products cause it. It is usually seen on boats of +- 40 years or older. One way of reducing the effect is to use nails of one casting, ie one pot of metal which would have the same chemical composition, reducing the electrolytic reaction of near adjacent nails which have a slight difference in formulation. Unfortunately this is of use only when the boat is made.
ps the prawns look yummy!!
