thank you for your continued support and to John (lonely_oryx) for his UA, and to Kate (Irishkate) for hers....both much appreciated.
I am still loving Istanbul.....it is so vibrant and it never seems to sleep, there are still traffic jams in the city streets at 1am in the morning.
Galata towers is a witness...a witness to the City of Istanbul...An alive witness 1500 years old...As much as it is a witness to the Genoese merchants, it is to the Venetian artists...it is a witness to Byzantium, Hagia Sophia, as much as it is to Suleiman the Magnificent....t is also witness to the boots of the army of occupation...also to Churchill and Agatha Christie...it is witness to the death of the Sultans...to the poets of the Tulip era...it is also a witness to Mustafa Kemal's rowing trips. A witnessed revolutions and movements, betrayals as well as loyalty.
Now all of these have faded into history....and the Gelata Tower has been left to the future from the past as a souvenir with its head up in the clouds...
The other versions are scenes from around the city
