Leafy veins

By ColleenA
Another image from my photo exam/assignment from Sunday at Kirstenbosch gardens. We were told to capture 15 diverse subjects as close as we could get... ie filling the frame... this is my attempt at a back lit leaf. V 2 and 3 more of the same... these are uncropped and no tweaking etc allowed on PS or Picasa for the exam, only framed.Grin
Thank you to Tish for her UAGrinGrin

I like V1 best. These are lovely renderings of a leaf, Colleen. Flowing pattern made into composition.

Three really great images Colleen !! So little to choose between them - so I will go with V2 - a bit more stem accentuating the flow of the veins from the stem more Smile

Worth getting out of bed for Grin. Like Herman V2 has the edge for me, not sure if it is because the angle is slightly different.............. Either way, they are all nice and crisp............... A gold star from teacher today GrinGrinGrin

Love them Colleen, the curvaceous veins make them very sensual - the green is vibrant and the composition is superb.

v1 is very good but v2 is my favourite, i like the two subdivisions. This is your best botanical achievement so far, you have found wonderful compositions here.

Cracking set of images Colleen.......I love V3 the best as it fills the screen with a beautiful stripey abstract of nature.........

Just one niggle if I may - I would've cloned out the small brown spot top left of V1 Blush ( it tends to draw my eye out of the frame..no offence meant just constructive criticism Wink )

Thanks for the GEA too Wink....

Excellent. All three are really nice images. I tried this a few years ago but think that I was the only person that enjoyed the results, so maybe they were not as good as I was thinking they were. SadSad
