Good day.....
Just back from a great morning game drive....
Thank you so much to all for your c & c's on my mono lioness. Also to George Platis, Lynette (Lynniesefforts) and Marktc for their UA's much appreciated.
We came across this crocodile sunning himself on the other side of a big waterhole....V2 the bigger picture
Also yesterday on our way back to the lodge, we saw what looked like a branch lying right across the thick as a mans we were a few metres away our Tracker sitting on the front of the vehicle shouted Stop!!!!! Our Ranger was still skidding to a stop when it reared up as high as a metre and a half...a lethal Black mamba....his head the size of a saucer....well at the same time as our Tracker threw himself sideways over the bonnet our ranger slapped the vehicle into we missed the strike I have no then slithered off into the bush....we estimate it to be 2.5m in length....a close shave with death....sadly my camera was in my bag....
Have a nice dayGrin

Super reflection. These creatures always amaze me as when they dry off out of the water they look as though they are turned to stone - and usually have their mouths open!
Bet that was very scary with the snake - ugh - keep safe! Smile

Great shot of the croc, but I don't like getting close to either it or a Black Mamba! I have never seen one as big as the one you described, nor do i want to....they are deadly!! You must have all felt very shaken by the experience. Ann.

You're not kidding Graham, I am very wary now, even look up into the thatch at the lodge and everything on the pathway where I walk....scary living in the bush at this time of the year, even the spiders are bigger

Merciful heavens Colleen - will you not be glad to get home
after mud and Mambas?
I'll bet you had a few gin and tonics that night!
Great images of the croc but your story will be with me all day.

Amazing capture of the big croc! The reflection was so good I thought at first it was two!!! Grin
Brave lady to come face to face with a Black Mamba... They are rather vicious and full of venom I hear...
In South America I came across some very large anacondas in the amazon but I think your snakes are more dangerous...
Thank goodness nobody got hurt...
