Ai Weiwei’s White House is an art installation in the Mona Gallery in Hobart.
This structure is built out of a frame of an 80 m2 Qing Dynasty home balanced atop reflective crystal spheres and situated spectacularly underneath a skylight.
One walked through a square tunnel dug out of limestone ...see V1
Once inside there were steps leading up to a red room...see V2 thank goodness I didn’t venture in..you’re given a series of warnings....everything from haze to loud music to extreme heat. They say if you suffer from claustrophobia stay clear...that’s me...you’re then strapped into a safety harness and you walk into hell. Unsurprisingly this is where you experience the extreme heat and something akin to a flood. V 3 shows a close up of the old wooden structure.
Many thanks for your votes comments and user awards all much appreciated
