Good morning...
Thank you for your continued support...
we came across this rhino Mom and her youngster in an open area. they were very relaxed with us and continued grazing while we watched them.
You can see they have been scratching themselves on a tree.
Last night when I finally had time for epz our internet played up, could get into epz but could not open your images to vote....will catch up today.

A bit of body milk would work wonders for this lady and her beautiful offspring Grin How beautiful to see these animals in a serene setting. I hope they will stay free from poachers.

Great shot but for me they look a little too close for comfort, I am a bit of a coward when it comes to animals that big. Well captured brave Colleen.

Quote: A lovely family picture, they seem very relaxed. Are they Black Rhino? often hard to tell.

Yes it is difficult as both grey. However there are big differences. The white rhinos name comes from the Dutch word for Wide mouth...they have wide flat lips and they are grazers, ie eat grass. The Black rhino have hooked lips for feeding in trees. Black rhinos are also smaller in stature.

A fine shot of this mother and her calf, I did wonder how they'd got those strange marks on their hide, thanks for clarifying it
